Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Manager of Public Relations and Marketing for our Public Relations and Marketing Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Manager of Public Relations and Marketing you will:

• Be exceptional communicator with a passion for telling the stories of our patients and caregivers.
• As part of the hospital leadership team, the manager works with service line leaders, executives and other key stakeholders and develops marketing communications that promote Shady Grove Medical Center's strategic initiatives.
• This role also serves as a public information officer for the hospital, leading its media relations, crisis communications and reputation management processes.
• The position requires a critical thinker and relationship builder who enjoys collaborating with colleagues at the hospital and throughout the healthcare system on projects that elevate the Adventist HealthCare brand.
• Writes content, including marketing materials, patient education handouts, blog posts and magazine articles that highlight patient care and service offerings
• Serves as project manager for communication requests.
• Works with key hospital stakeholders to recommend tactics that meet strategic objectives and guides the content from its creation through the design and publication processes
• Supports advertising activities, including conceptualization of ad campaigns, purchasing of ad placements, and collaboration with graphic designers
• Schedules and manages hospital photo shoots
• Maintains and monitors hospital social media accounts, and leads online reputation management
• Serves as a point of contact for news media. Coordinates interviews; prepares spokespersons. Writes talking points and press releases.
• Pitches stories to news media and monitors coverage.
• Takes on-call media relations representative for the Adventist HealthCare system
• Composes executive communications such as memos, letters and talking points
• Plans and executes the hospital's presence at marketing and community events

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or marketing
• Minimum of five years in public relations, marketing, communications or journalism, preferably in healthcare
• Impeccable writing skills
• Strong public speaking skills
• Experience working with or for news media
• Experience managing social media
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once and work in a team environment.
• Strong customer service skills
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite tools a plus
• Comfort working on-site in a hospital

Work Schedule:

Full Time, Day Shift, Monday - Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
