Adjunct Faculty, Media Theory/Media CriticismThe Department of Communication at George Mason University invites applications for part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach undergraduate courses in media/mass communication theory, media criticism, and/or critical media studies.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Teach undergraduate course(s), prepare course lectures and course materials, establish and maintain courseware page (on Blackboard), evaluate and grade student work, engage students in classroom discussions, respond to student emails, hold office hours via video chat (Zoom or equivalent).Required Qualifications:MA/MS/MFA in Communication or related field (e.g., Media/Cultural Studies, Film, Journalism, etc.).Preferred Qualifications:PhD in Communication or related field (e.g., Media/Cultural Studies, Film, Journalism, etc.); andTeaching experience at college/university level.
