Job Summary: 
Westat is seeking individuals to work as part of a team to plan for, specify, manage, review, document and prepare social science survey data for delivery to Westat's clients.  Candidates should have a focus on data quality assurance from collection through delivery.  You will become an expert on the appropriate application of a variety of modes of data collection, the questionnaires, and the collected data for a variety of studies. 

This is a full time position with flexibility for a partial telework arrangement. 

Job Responsibilities:
•    Write technical specifications for systems, reports, and files
•    Develop procedures for study data operations
•    Write programming specifications and clean, code and edit data
•    Plan for and verify the accurate recording of data as it moves between systems and files
•    Harmonize data collected in various systems into consolidated and well documented data sets for use in analysis 
•    Test software systems and applications for use in data collection, management, and delivery
•    Document plans, procedures, and data descriptions
•    Oversee hourly and junior salaried staff performing operational tasks

Basic Qualifications: 
•    A Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    A Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
•    Knowledge of R, SQL, and SAS are desirable. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
•    To be successful in this role you must possess an analytic mind, strong interest in social science research, understanding of information systems and programming aptitude or experience.  
•    Candidates should have excellent communication skills, detail orientation, and a highly organized approach to work. 
•    An interest in working with large databases at the detailed level.
