Large Non-Profit in Northern VA is seeking a new Director of HR to guide the organization specifically in the areas of talent management and engagement, performance management, training and development, benefits, compensation, compliance, and employee relations. The HR Director will provide strategic leadership by articulating human resources needs and plans to the Association's leadership. In addition, the HR Director will mentor, coach, and lead the HR team by fostering an environment of learning, development, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and guidance by developing and overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, engagement, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits plans to meet the overall needs and goals of the organization.
- Identify, establish, and implement HR initiatives that effectively support the Association's mission, vision, and values.
- Oversee training and development programs meeting the ongoing needs for employees' continuous career development.
- Identify and develop HR plans and strategies to achieve overall business objectives.
- Create, mentor, and empower a high-performance Human Resources team. Oversee and manage the work of Human Resources staff and encourage their ongoing development and growth.
- Act as an agent of change, innovation, and strategy implementation focused on the changing nature of talent acquisition, development, engagement, and rewards.
- Actively develop diversity and inclusion initiatives by reviewing cultural strategies, processes, and organizational practices that support individual worth and dignity and where all are equally valued, engaged, recognized, and rewarded.
- Leverage technology to create an agile, flexible, well-informed organization. Use data analytics, business metrics, and visualization tools to inform decisions.
- Ensure organization compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements.
- Advise organization leadership to minimize liability.
- Establish departmental measurements and metrics that support the alignment and accomplishment of the Association's strategic goals, mission, and values.
- Partner with the accounting team to ensure payroll compliance and accuracy.

Job Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years HR experience with at least 5 years of experience leading an HR team.
- Experience working in non-profit or other mission-driven organization
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required Master's Degree preferred
- SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR preferred
Skills/Abilities:
- Leader and strategic thinker and visionary
- Advisor, internal consultant, coach, mentor, and collaborator
- Change management skills and problem solver
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Adept at conflict resolution, analytical, and well organized
- Well-versed in employment-related law and regulations (federal, state, local)
- Knowledge of and experience with HRIS systems and other online platforms for HR and talent management programs
- Knowledge of and experience with payroll systems, processes, and laws
- Presentation and facilitation skills
