Job Description

The Washington Post photo team seeks an experienced and highly organized operations manager to support and manage all aspects of photo operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated candidate with expert knowledge of Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, FTP transmission and other photo industry tools, along with office software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Slack and Trello. Prior experience working with DAM systems and CMS publishing tools is a major plus.

This position reports to the director of photography and will work closely with top managers. Prior experience working in a fast-paced newsroom is required. Duties include managing relationships with internal teams to test and develop workflows and tools for our photo DAM and publishing systems; directing technical training and onboarding for staff photography assignment editors and photojournalists; updating and maintaining freelance photojournalist filing instructions and protocols; and managing contracts, expenses and invoices for external photo vendors.

This position is based in our Washington newsroom.
