Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Northrop Grumman Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) is looking for a Cyber Software Engineer to drive key automation goals. Your customer is the top-notch team of incident responders, intelligence analysts, and systems engineers within the CSOC. Your mission is to help us design and implement the next generation of operations through Security Orchestration/Automation & Response (SOAR) technologies. This position is expected to evolve rapidly over time as solutions are dreamt up, executed, maintained, and decommissioned. The ideal candidate is an experienced Python developer that is looking to escape the IDE periodically to tinker with full stacks and end-to-end workflows.Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field with 9 years of software development experience; 7 years with a master's degree. An additional 4 years of experience is required in lieu of a degree.Strong software programming experience in PythonAdvanced knowledge of Linux and other operating systemsAbility to excel on a team of non-developersPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Security Orchestration/Automation & Response (SOAR) or Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) platforms, especially integrations and playbooksExperience with automating workflows and integrating disparate systemsFamiliarity with cyber security operations and conceptsFamiliarity with source control systems (Git, etc) and building CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with a variety of programming and scripting languages (Bash, JavaScript), document descriptors (HTML, XML, JSON) and ability to learn new concepts when requiredActive security clearanceAdvanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fieldSalary Range: $138,300 USD - $207,500 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
