JOB SUMMARY The Senior Director Infrastructure Portfolio management leads overall Infrastructure PMO and will drive the cross-functional alignment to Infrastructure Delivery and Global Technology objectives. Drives the creation of integrated plans and provides top level views (health and status) on the portfolio of Infrastructure Delivery projects and programs. Functions as the central point that identifies how the infrastructure organization's teams are functioning in terms of velocity, ability to hit dates, risks, and leverages the Global Technology intake process to determine resource needs. Uses available data to drive outcomes and urgency within the organization. Develops/implements processes to prioritize, identify dependencies and risks, and report on cross-team interdependencies (engineering, network, applications, etc.). Further, will be a liaison within Global Technology to ensure prioritization, dependencies, and portfolio-level risks across strategic initiatives are understood. With the adoption of SAFe Agile, this role with drive alignment on the organization's Agile implementation and ensure consistency in approach and processes unique to infrastructure. Additionally, this role provides Agile metrics and overall helps to drive the overall adoption of Agile methodologies for the infrastructure teams. Drives participation in the Agile community of practice. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required: 10+ years of experience in complex strategic initiatives and portfolio management 5+ years information technology leadership experience (including budget management); includes managing cross-functional, sourced, and matrixed technical or product teams 3+ years in portfolio or project management 5+ years of experience in organizational change management driving large-scale agile transformation in complex organizations/environments BS/BA/BBA or equivalent experience/certification SAFe(R) 5 Certification or relevant Agile certifications Attributes and Preferred Skills/Experience IT operations experience Ability to establish clear communication and storytelling via presentations, key performance metrics, reports, and data Lodging operations experience ITILv4 certification Ability to work across organizational boundaries to manage complex programs and program dependencies Ability to command the process across all levels to create a customer-focused organization Ability to develop and deliver portfolios using Agile practices Demonstrated leadership experience influencing and garnering alignment from external stakeholders Skilled in conceptualizing creative solutions, documenting them, and presenting/selling them to senior management Highly developed oral and written communication skills Highly skilled analytical abilities solving complex problems Strong interpersonal skills that enable effective teamwork across functions/departments, motivate employees, and influence the work of others without direct reporting accountability Experience in vendor management, including vendor selection, negotiation, contract award, and ongoing relationship management Core Activities Identifies programs necessary to drive transparency and visibility into Infrastructure programs Manages and leads Infrastructure portfolios. Uses executive presence to establish credibility within the organization Coaches, mentors, and supports technology Associates and product owners in their professional development as agile practitioners Oversees portfolio execution of Infrastructure strategic roadmap, plan development, and related exercises Collaborates with organizational leaders and product teams to implement, scale, and continuously improve agile practices by leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Provides thought leadership and expertise on agile best practices in the Infrastructure environment with products in different stages of their agile journey Manages related IT budgets (capital and operational), annual program agendas, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure objectives are met Serves as organizational liaison between Infrastructure and Technology Portfolio Management (TPM) to implement and adopt standards within Infrastructure organization Develops and maintains close partnerships with Global Technology leaders to support delivery of strategic initiatives and management of cross-functional risk Manages and enforces contracts, along with associated service-level agreements (SLAs), for external service providers, as required Manages the creation of portfolio performance communications to senior leadership and external stakeholders regarding the status of the Infrastructure portfolio Strives to reduce costs and improve services through new technologies, automation, creative sourcing, and other innovative methods. Keeps abreast of latest Agile portfolio management trends, best practices, and technologies Department Management Communicates frequently and transparently with team via regular staff meetings and 1:1 discussion Establishes monthly reporting, where necessary Manages department budget and follows corporate expense policies Develops a diverse team ensuring high levels of employee engagement, operations performance excellence, and appropriate succession planning Balances both leading a team and engaging directly with the work needed to accomplish objectives Creates and fosters career development for team members in alignment with company and personal objectives Assists direct reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that the crucial business initiatives are delivered Managing Projects and Priorities Functions as a strategic senior technical expert within the department. Makes and executes the necessary decisions to keep moving forward toward achievement of goals. Provides direction and assistance to other teams regarding projects. Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Reviews vendor proposals and selects appropriate vendor for services/technologies/hardware. Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new project plans. Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the quality of operations. Keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to job. Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities Interviews and hires employees. Promotes the fair and equitable treatment of employees. Facilitates regular, ongoing communication in department (eg, staff meetings). Fosters employee commitment to providing excellent service, participates in daily stand-up meetings and models desired service behaviors in all interactions with customer and employees. Incorporates customer satisfaction as a component of staff/operations meetings with an emphasis on generating innovative ways to continually improve results. Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for performance goals. Solicits employee feedback. Utilizes an "open door policy" and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns Promotes adherence to policies consistently, follows disciplinary procedures and documents items according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process. Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures. Champions change ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented and communicates follow-up actions to team as necessary. Identifies talents of direct reports and their teams and assists with their growth and development plans.
