Job Description: The Katherine Thomas High School in Rockville, MD seeks to hire a full-time Special Education Science Teacher for the 2022/2023 school year. Responsibilities for the Science Teacher include: Implement content area curricula Provide necessary accommodations to meet individual, group, and program needs Write and implement IEPs Create a supportive learning environment Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Create partnerships with parents and The Katherine Thomas High School Community EOE Required Experience: Required Experience for the Science Teacher: Must have a Bachelor's Degree Active Maryland Teaching Certificate, Maryland Special Education Teaching certificate Experience working with students with learning disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or other health impairments preferred Must be team oriented, reliable, and have a professional attitude Must have mastery of the content area As a condition of employment, all new hires are required to have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. New hires must receive any additional vaccine doses in the appropriate timeframes to be considered fully vaccinated and submit weekly test results until they are fully vaccinated.
