Always ready. Anytime. Anywhere. Any domain. Intelligent Waves has an immediate need for a System Administrator (SA) to support our corporate IT infrastructure, enterprise servers, and applications. The primary focus of the position is to perform the administrative activities required to support network and server configuration, hardware and software installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and operating procedures in IW's corporate enterprise architecture from our corporate office in Reston, VA. The SA will be familiar with Information Technology (IT) concepts, practices and procedures and work to operate/administer network enterprise services. The System Administrator (SA) reports to the Deputy IT Operations Director and is responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of IW's hybrid Windows server environment. The SA makes recommendations for hardware and software purchases and interact with third-party technology vendors and internal teams based on valid operational requirements and business needs.All IW employees are required to follow all company and customer site COVID-19 protocols. Responsibilities: Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systemsConducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologiesProvide input to monthly network services outage report that should include network service outages, their duration, number of users impacted, etc.Provide real-time system operational statistics for proactive management of network servicesProvide Configuration ManagementProvide Fault ManagementProvide Systems PatchingMonitor and respond to Fault Monitoring Management services.Collect data by monitoring and analysis of network behavior and report such data as requiredProvide Enterprise IT Systems SupportProvide hardware maintenance of unique systemsProvide SA for systems, servers, workstations, peripherals, communications devices and softwarePerform the responsibilities delegated by the network operations center and network control center to optimize performance and quality of serviceEnsure servers, workstations, peripherals, communications devices and operating system/application software are properly configured for network operation, are on-line and are available to customersAssign and maintain user IDs and passwords. Administer user privileges on the systemPerform routine system maintenanceWork with the network operations center and network control center to implement network security policies and proceduresImplement software patches and security fixes as required by the network operations and security center or program management officeTest and validate the proper operation and configuration with appropriate patches and fixes, as required above, prior to restoring any device to the networkEnsure physical security of Information Network componentsMonitor difficulty reports, heads-up messages and system advisory noticesPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Associate degree (preferred) in a related field or the equivalent combination of related education, professional training or work experience (4 years)4+ years of experience in Systems AdministrationMinimum IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (ie - Sec+ CE [MCSA])Network experience with different switches and configurationAbility to work well with othersGood communication skillsSelf-starter - minimal supervision requiredGood organizational skillsProficient in MS Office toolsKnowledge of CMMC RequirementsExperience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, Office 365Personal Attributes:Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team Ability to communicate well with senior military leaders and civilian government officialsStrong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
