George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Compensation: $55-$65/hourResponsibilities:Interpret all content and special subject areas for deaf or hard-of-hearing students, faculty, and staff;Interpret interactions of deaf individuals for the purpose of facilitating communication;Prepare for all interpreting assignments to ensure accurate representation of the material being presented;Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions with the Mason community;Maintains certification at the state and/or national level; assumes responsibility for professional growth and keeps materials, supplies, and skills up to date;Complies with and supports Disability Services and Mason's policies and procedures; andMust pass interpreting skills assessment.Required Qualifications:State or equivalent screening; and5yrs. verifiable professional experience (must include higher education).Preferred Qualifications:National Certification in good standing for a minimum of 5 yrs.; andMaster's Degree.Work Setting - Onsite & Virtual
