Center for Neural Informatics, Structures, and Plasticity (CN3)NeuroMorpho.Org Project LeadThe George Mason University Center for Neural Informatics, Structures, and Plasticity (CN3), within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), seeks a proactive, organized, and self-reliant NeuroMorpho.Org Project Lead. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Recruiting, train, and supervise undergraduate interns for data parsing, editing, quality check, and visualization;Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) by overseeing the day-to-day operation of NeuroMorpho.Org;Extract morphometric measurements from neuronal and glial tracings;Performing statistical analyses and writing research manuscripts for peer-review;Interact with researchers in other national and international institutions;Participate in all aspects of the Center's mission, such as actively attending group meetings and weekly seminars;Prepare and deliver interactive demos for visitors and external stakeholders; andSubmit abstracts for conference presentations.Required Qualifications:A PhD in Neuroscience/Bioengineering or other relevant fields; andMulti-year postdoctoral experience in neurite quantification.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated potential for excellence and productivity in research;A commitment to data sharing and open access science;Knowledge of hippocampal anatomy and physiology;Hands-on expertise in digital reconstructions of neuronal morphology;Ability to interact effectively with peers and trainees; andDemonstrated team leadership.A Force for Innovation in the Heart of Northern Virginia's Technology CorridorThe College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) at George Mason University is comprised of the Volgenau School of Engineering and a new School of Computing.
