The organization is responsible for positioning Intel's business as a technology leader with and key partner with influential government audiences. Our core priorities include government relations, regulatory affairs, public policy, enabling business strategies to succeed and thought leadership. About the Role: As the Vice President for the Policy and Regulatory Affairs organization, you will lead a dynamic team and be able to immediately and directly enhance Intel"s overall political engagement and advocacy on technical policy and regulatory issues. This position reports directly to Intel's Chief Government Affairs Officer and will lead the overall strategy for government engagement to advance Intel"s regulatory and technical policy positions with governments by leveraging the group"s technical acumen, influencer networks, business partnerships, and key government, trade and standards organization engagements. Scope of Role: The individual must have deep understanding and proven expertise in the areas of international public policy, geopolitical landscapes as well as extensive knowledge and substantive public policy expertise priority technology areas such as manufacturing, cybersecurity, and intellectual property. They must have an appreciation and sensitivity to working within the context of an innovative, fast-paced, technology company. The individual will be required to develop and manage a strategic plan for successfully achieving specific results which support and enable Intel business strategies to succeed Responsibilities: Key ResponsibilitiesThis position will be responsible for implementing strategies and engagement, both internally and externally, with a wide range of stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, trade associations, other industry players, Intel business unit leaders and government affairs professionals in all geographies:Manage and motivate a direct global staff of 20+ people charged with forming regulatory and public policy positions for Intel"s priority policy areas, including but not limited to manufacturing and sustainability, telecommunications, intellectual property, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and supply chain.Partner with Intel's regional government affairs teams and business executives to develop strategic engagements, both internally and externally.Compose advocacy materials and briefing documents to educate executives and coordinate their interactions with policymakers, regulatory agencies, trade, and standards organizations.Build strong relationships to enhance Intel"s reputation and image as a trusted partner among relevant government agencies and create the ecosystem needed for Intel"s businesses to flourish.Be a strong voice for Intel"s priority public policy issues.Key CapabilitiesExperience in similar government affairs and/or public policy position with demonstrated ability to lead a global, matrixed team and drive policies and results that contribute to the successful execution of business strategies.A thorough understanding of regulatory processes, with a proven track record of designing successful advocacy campaigns that achieved favorable policy outcomes.Ability to build strong relationships with individuals at all levels within the company and across the industry.Ability to comfortably influence, negotiate, and manage a wide-range of business priorities and seamlessly incorporate into a coherent and connected strategy; demonstrated ability to address and resolve conflicting priorities that put business success at risk.Experience managing relationships with external stakeholders to shape positive public opinion.Strong executive presence; able to effectively engage and communicate with executive-level audiences whether in a board room, at the podium, or in high-level meetings.Reputation for ethical conduct and unquestionable integrity.Excellent political and business judgment; high degree of discretion.Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.Team-first orientation with leadership style that encourages communication, collaboration, and coordination.Brings out the best in others and delegates effectively; sets clear expectations and provides feedback and support as necessary.Contributes meaningfully to high-performing and positive team culture, mentoring and developing team talent.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have between 10 to 20 years of relevant public and/or private sector experience in senior position(s) as well as demonstrated industry leadership experience.Inside this Business GroupIntel"s Growth Acceleration Team (GAT) offers unique opportunities to work in a variety of areas, including counsel to Intel businesses; technology and intellectual property licensing; patent prosecution; trademarks and brands; litigation, mergers, acquisitions and investing; public policy, legislative and regulatory lobbying; global trade, export, import, and customs; and corporate compliance.Other LocationsBelgium, BrusselsIntel strongly encourages employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
