Full-time $135,488 - $189,679 a year 2 days ago Full Job Description This position is located in the Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs (DCRA). The mission of the DCRA is to protect the health, safety, economic interests, and quality of life of residents, businesses, and visitor in the District of Columbia by issuing licenses and permits, conducting inspections, enforcing building, housing, and safety codes, regulating land use and development, and providing consumer education services.This position serves as the Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for the leadership and direction of the agency operations with focus on specific assigned program areas to meet agency"s objectives and goals.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops operational strategies to increase productivity and efficiency. Develops actionable business strategies and plans that ensure operational success. Provides support and advice to senior leadership on the operational business issues and the development of organizational strategies. Implements daily operations and aligns key functions with goals, map-out plans, and projects. Leads teams in achieving project objectives; plans work to be accomplished, sets and adjusts short-term priorities. Participates with setting and negotiating deadlines and milestone for completion dates; performs operational and programmatic activities, planning the budget and initiates new plans and logistics.Develops and administers operating policies and procedures. Confers regularly with the program managers to keep apprised of new or changing policies, positions, requirements, and special priority matters. Keeps the Director abreast of regional economic development, policies and procedures. Reviews internal control systems for compliance with established procedures and standards. Ensures that the agency"s strategic plans, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrates in daily activities. Researches and implements methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products. Corrects deficiencies in productivity, accuracy, effectiveness and customer service; keeps management informed of any issues that may impact operations.Qualifications and EducationSpecialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
