Externally, the GE team engages a wide range of stakeholders to raise awareness of and build support for policies that expand access to and usage of digital payments in Asia-Pacific and around the world. Internally, GE works closely with colleagues across the company including Global Policy, Products, Business Solutions, Merchant Acquiring, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Marketing, Communications, Visa University, Social Impact, Risk, Legal, and Compliance.What a Vice President, Head of Strategy and Operations does at Visa:The payments industry landscape is becoming increasingly more dynamic due to rapid business, policy, and regulatory developments. In such a complex operating environment, it is essential for GE to stay ahead of the curve, to inform and support business priorities, and to influence policy changes in positive and proactive ways. GE has an especially critical role to play with respect to new regulations and Government-led or -initiated pilot/proof-of-concept programs, which may present Government-as-a-Client business opportunities that can be addressed with Visa Government Solutions (VGS). To meet all of these growing needs within the regions, we are seeking a leader to help oversee the global operations of the team and help plan and resource for the future.Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Government Engagement, this US-based position will help to set and guide all aspects of GE strategy, planning, and operations and drive alignment across the GE leadership team, the regions, and global priorities. We are looking for a skilled business manager who can partner closely with global peers to ensure GEs success. This leader will help guide the team on developing a multi-year strategy and ensure effective execution of those plans, in addition to tracking and monitoring the success. In addition, this leader will work with the regional Planning and Operations leads to set clear goals, track and monitor our success, and help produce positive outcomes for the business.The Head of Strategy and Operations will continue to oversee the global budgets and cost centers, ensuring timely spending and thoughtful execution is happening at the global level. In addition, they will monitor the regional budgets to ensure all needs are met. The Head of Strategy and Operations will also oversee Global GEs coordination efforts with the Visa Government Solutions team. The Head will manage the Senior Director, Global Operations and Manager directly. Together, the entire team will ensure that Global GE continues to maintain its high standard of support for addressing regulatory challenges and enabling business opportunities across all markets.Major ResponsibilitiesPartner closely with the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Government Engagement to ensure smooth operations both at the global and regional levels.Drive cross-functional collaboration between the regions and cross-functional business partners.Serve as subject-matter expert and go-to resource for GE perspective on Visa business strategy, product capabilities, policy trends, and client perspectives.Lead GE"s participation in the development and production of compelling content for government/client-facing presentations and thought leadership materials for Government Solutions and new business initiatives, and leverage public engagement platforms to advance Visa"s role as a leader in new/emerging technology and resource for Government agencies.Support the GE team to execute strategic collaboration/partnership opportunities with relevant internal business functions.StrategyDevelop strategic, multi-year plans for the GE team. Track and monitor the execution of those plans.Provide strategic guidance and project leadership on key business initiatives.Supervise and manage preparation of presentation materials for internal business reviews, management events, and external conferences targeted for internal and external stakeholder engagements.Supervise and manage thoughtful preparation and on-time delivery of executive-quality briefing materials and correspondence. These include products for: Visa leader visits, meetings with government and other stakeholders, and key event logistics related to Government Engagement.Maintain and enhance management tools to ensure timely and efficient reporting of regulatory developments. Additionally, track and evaluate progress of annual goals and lead special projects, as needed.Oversee employee engagement activities for the Government Engagement team.OperationsTogether with Operations Senior Director, continuously review and enhance GE tools and processes. Share and apply best practices, maximizing performance, and elevating productivity in-markets across the team.Actively facilitate enhanced communication among:Visa Government Engagement team members,Global Policy and VEEI team members,Support functions such as Finance and People (HR),colleagues in related functions such as: Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Risk, and Compliance.Provide oversight of timely preparation and coordination of all budget and compliance-related matters.Assist with all internal audit processes.This position is open to the following locations: Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA or New York, NY.This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
