Description of Position The National Security Agency (NSA) currently has opportunities for highly motivated Interior Designers to provide facilities design expertise, guidance and support to the development and implementation of commercial solutions that enable capabilities that align with mission driven priorities. Our interior designers are responsible for the look and feel of facilities, from an interiors perspective, at our headquarters and across the entire enterprise. Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience. An Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience may be considered. Degree must be in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field. If program is not CIDA accredited, it must include specified coursework.* Specified coursework shall include the following topics: (a) drafting (b) architectural drawing and rendering (c) computer aided design (d) intro to interior design (e) architectural lighting or environmental controls (f) building construction and methods (g) construction documents (h) design and the built environment (i) history of architecture (j) history of furniture (k) sustainable design (l) design and visual culture (m) visual form (n) Photoshop for interiors (o) graphic presentation (p) construction materials and finishes (q) interior design business practices (r) life safety codes for interiors Relevant experience must be in facilities, space planning (to include: [Americans with Disabilties Act (ADA), Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), International Building Code (IBC), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101-life safety codes], design, and/or construction documentation utilizing Computer Aid Drafting (CAD) (eg, AutoCAD). Salary Range: $74,950 - $116,788 (Full Performance)The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience. An Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience may be considered. Degree must be in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field. National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certifications are preferred. Salary Range: $106,823 - $164,102 (Senior)The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience. An Associate's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience may be considered. Degree must be in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field. If program is not CIDA accredited, it must include specified coursework.* Specified coursework shall include the following topics: (a) drafting (b) architectural drawing and rendering (c) computer aided design (d) intro to interior design (e) architectural lighting or environmental controls (f) building construction and methods (g) construction documents (h) design and the built environment (i) history of architecture (j) history of furniture (k) sustainable design (l) design and visual culture (m) visual form (n) Photoshop for interiors (o) graphic presentation (p) construction materials and finishes (q) interior design business practices (r) life safety codes for interiors Relevant experience must be in facilities, space planning [to include: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Architectural Barriers Act (ABA), International Building Code (IBC), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101-life safety codes], design, and/or construction documentation utilizing Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) (eg, AutoCAD), and must include project management (preferably in design, construction, facilities or space planning); design management; supervisor or site manager in a facilities environment. National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are preferred.Salary is commensurate with education and experience. On-the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.
