FEDERAL SALES ENGINEER (GIS): HERNDON, VA (hybrid remote/onsite) Who Staffing is conducting a search for a Federal Sales Engineer with experience in the geospatial/GIS industry. This person will join the small and growing sales team for a 25-year-old company, focused on supporting the sales executive for their geospatial software and services to the federal market. This 52-employee organization has built 3D generation and visualization tools that are ranked #2 in the US for quality and price among top GIS industry competitors. This position offers a competitive base salary with uncapped commission potential, and a flexible hybrid schedule. This position also offers a clear and quick growth trajectory to a sales executive position.The right candidate will have in depth technical knowledge of GIS software and familiarity with the federal marketplace. Additionally, this person should be able to present features and benefits of the software in a clear and compelling manner to large audiences of knowledgeable stakeholders.Job Summary:The Federal Sales Engineer will work with client's Sales managers to build, present, and educate potential customers with demonstrations that are tailored to individual industries and accounts. This position will serve as an advisor of client's technology to customers and present technical training for the commercial and government sectors. Summary of Essential Job Functions:Pre-Sales SupportWork with client's Sales managers to build, present, and educate potential customers with demonstrations that are tailored to individual industries and accounts.Assist with closing sales leads.Support all aspects of presentations and public speaking from large conferences, webinars, and individual customer meetings.Create promotional marketing materials from demonstrations and presentation materials. Post-Sales Support Design and present technical training of the client's platform that is tailored to specific workflows or industries.Assist and contribute to the software development roadmap.Expand sales inside existing customers through promoting new enhancements and technology.Advisor of TechnologyBe a technical leader of client's technology as well as a subject matter expert of the commercial and government sector.Demonstrate your advanced understanding of sales strategies and initiatives to develop complex solutions for client's most strategic customers and business partners.Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Remote Sensing, GIS, or related field.Minimum 2-3 years' work experience in the GIS or software industry.Familiarity and understanding of the Federal marketplace.Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes.Experience with Geospatial software packages such as TerraExplorer, ArcGIS, SocketGXP, ENVI, QGIS, etc.Experience preparing and delivering presentations, and teaching others on technical topics.Broad knowledge of GIS, Remote Sensing, and Photogrammetry (Software, Services, Cloud, Workflows, Industries)Ability to travel 20-40% domestically or occasional international travel Skills:Effective training skills with the ability to break down complex matters into easy-to-understand concepts.Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, with a strong command of the English language.Ability to create web applications and web apps.Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to projects and initiatives beyond your core responsibility and competency.Strong teamwork skills, seeking to be part of a fast-paced team consisting of sales, marketing, support, and services.Creative problem-solving skills, seeking out new solutions and options to drive success.An entrepreneurial spirit who can contribute to the company's strategy and growth beyond tactical execution.Physical Requirements:This position frequently works in an office environment and sits at a desk for extended periods of time and requires dexterity to operate general office/computer equipment.The person in this position will frequently communicate with peers, managers, subordinates, and clients, and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information in these situations.This position will require sitting, standing, bending, and reaching, which may be required for extended periods of time.
