By acknowledging the significant role trauma plays in the lives of the people we serve, we promote meaningful transformation that lasts.SummaryThe goals of the Behavior Consultant (BC) are to provide clinical direction of services to the child, youth, or young adult; along with developing and monitoring the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP). The Behavior Consultant assesses the individual's behaviors, designs a behavioral intervention program, and monitors the implementation of non-aversive behavioral change methods. Behavior Consultants collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data from treatment team members and adjust treatment goals accordingly to promote progress. The Behavior Consultant will also lead the treatment team and will strive to develop collaboration among all treatment team members.Folium, Inc. Behavior Consultant will address specific needs of the individual and family in a manner that encourages child and family autonomy so that services can be effectively reduced and discontinued when the individual's behavior improves and stabilizes. Our goals are to integrate the individual into the community as well as equip the family with the necessary skills to maintain improvements demonstrated by the individual while receiving services. Folium, Inc staff will strive to establish collaboration within the family, promote a family's ability to function as a cohesive, independent whole, and improve the quality of the family and individual relationships.In addition to the details and requirements for the employee listed below, Folium, Inc expects the employee to be committed to incorporating principles of trauma-informed care in all areas of service delivery. Commitment to these principles in trauma treatment will be required through attendance in training and the use of identified evidence-based practices. Trauma-informed care includes cultural sensitivity and emphasizes a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff.Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvide Behavior Consultation service to assigned caseload working in the home, school, and community settings.Develop individualized behavior modification treatment plans and supervise the implementation of the plans.Maintain progress notes for every billable contact. Prepare professionally written summaries and documents describing a client's behavior and progress in the achievement of treatment plan goals.Design and direct the implementation of a behavioral intervention plan for the identified child.Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data.Participate in interagency treatment plan meetings as needed.BC will provide clinical oversight to Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at the location of behavioral interventions on a routine basis. BC will work closely with the BHT to ensure treatment goals are being implemented accurately. Interaction with the BHT can be held at any location where behavioral interventions take place (school, home, and/or community).Develop cooperative relationships with community agencies that will facilitate treatment services provided to all clients.Work as a positive team member supporting the team's mission and goals, consistently working in a trusting and cooperative manner with fellow team members, and supporting the team's common operating approach.Accepts professional responsibility and serves as a role model for positive, pro-social behavior; modeling respect, responsibility, integrity, empathy, impulse control, emotional self-awareness, and professional boundaries.Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by attending all required meetings, training, and organizational training.Conduct initial Assessments and/or Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA's)- collect, quantify, and analyze data. Facilitates team meetings to discuss data and findings. Fine-tunes IBHS prescriptions based on levels of need.Attends both individual and group supervision.An individual who provides behavior consultation services will complete at least 16 hours of training annually that is approved by the PA Department of Human Services as outlined in the individual training plan.The candidate will have to complete and maintain certification of ESPI training. ESPI techniques are only used in compliance with Folium policy and procedure and within guidelines established by third-party experts in the proper and legal use of ESPI.Maintain an active valid driver's license issued by the state in which they reside and must immediately notify their supervisor or Human Resources if their license is suspended or revoked for any reason.May perform other special projects or duties as requested.SkillsPossess specific expertise in behavior management protocols. Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop effective and meaningful relationships with clients. Must be able to identify underlying causes of problem situations, and recommend non-aversive behavioral change methods. Must be a team player.Educational And Experience BackgroundQualifications must meet one of the following: Licensure in the state of Pennsylvania as a behavior specialist (LBS). Have certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. Have a graduate degree in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university. Have 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth, or young adults and a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university. Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling, or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university.Any individual who provides behavior consultation to children diagnosed with ASD for the treatment of ASD shall be licensed in the state of Pennsylvania as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services.The Behavior Consultant will have an updated Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance, Act 34 Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Background Check, and Act 31 CPSL Mandated Reporter Training before working alone with a child.WORKING CONDITIONSWork settings can include, but are not limited to, school buildings, home, community, church, activity centers, or extended or kinship family home. Working conditions during the summer program and recreational programs may involve physical activities.
