Title:A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Underwriting AssociateA' Reports To:A' A' A' A' A' Team Leader- UnderwritingA' Department:A' A' A' A' Asset ManagementA' A' CWCapital Asset Management (CWCAM), the largest named special servicer of Freddie Mac loans and a leading third party commercial mortgage special servicer is seeking an associate to join our underwriting/diligence team in DC, Dallas, or New York.A' This team is a key anchor to one of CWCAM's core business lines, agency special servicing, along with special servicing for private label CMBS.A' Position SummaryA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' The Underwriting Associate will evaluate securitized pools of commercial mortgages at the individual asset and loan level in order to provide risk analysis to buyers of commercial mortgage-backed securities.A' Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesA' This position is part of a team primarily engaged in producing risk analysis deliverables, both qualitative and quantitative, for CWCAM's third party clients.A' The role includes credit analysis, market research, and working with and manipulating data.A' The role has a focus on agency multifamily debt but will also include broader CMBS, whole loans, subordinate loans, and single-borrower transactions.A' Specific duties will include:A' A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Underwriting real estate and commercial loans.A' Underwriting includes valuation analysis of cash flows, evaluating comparables, property manager interviews, and loan document/structure review, presenting all of these items to CWCAM's clients.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Performing site inspections and market tours, interacting with local market participants and on-site staff, in order to validate or challenge the projected risk profile of commercial loans.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Understanding and maintaining CWCAM's excel-based deliverables, adjusting those deliverables in response to specific client feedback or project needs. A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Working with CWCAM's technology platform to create and prepare regular third party investment status reports and ensure timely delivery to clients.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Creating various ad-hoc reporting and modeling in response to circumstances and client needs.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' The ability to cogently and persuasively synthesize quantitative data with CWCAM's narrative risk analysis in order to communicate a clear opinion to CWCAM's third party clients.A' A' Skills/Experience RequirementsA' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, real estate or related field.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' 2-4 years of experience in commercial real estate.A' Agency debt experience a plus.A' Employment backgrounds of banking, brokerage, equity, and research, have succeeded in this role in the past.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Confidence to work on a team in a project-based environment with multiple hard deadlines.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Combined verbal, written, and interpersonal skills sufficient to support an opinion derived from equally strong analytical skills.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' The confidence to make cold calls when conducting market research or entering a market.A' .A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.A'
