Our client is a prestigious publicly-traded company and is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant ! The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will have 1-2 Junior Accountants to supervise.ResponsibilitiesProvide training and oversight of junior accounting staff as needed.Lead and monitor the month end and quarter end accounting close to ensure deadlines are met and all items are recorded.Accurate and efficient preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and analyses, including Footnotes, Statement of Cash Flows, and Balance Sheet.Conduct financial analyses, including variance analysis and forecasting.Review and approve monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting.Review accounting policies and processes; assist in research, development and implementation of new or updated company policies and processes.Assist process owners in documentation and testing of SOX controls.Special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.Drive company initiatives and lead projects.Preferred Qualifications2+ years of general accounting experienceFull understanding and experience with general accounting, strong financial analysis skillsDemonstrated proficiency in ExcelAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesAbility to work independentlyStrong verbal and written communication skillsSolid understanding of GAAP
