Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Description:Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems. The team is responsible for integration and testing of avionics systems on solid rocket motor and other high-performance systems.This position can be filled at either the Engineer Electromechanical (Level 2) or a Principal Electromechanical Engineer (Level 3), depending on years of experience and qualifications.Basic Qualifications Engineer Electromechanical (Level 2): Requires a Bachelors' degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience; or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Requires strong knowledge of electrical and electronic theory, the ability to apply that knowledge to duties involved in engineering functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, installation and maintenance of electronic equipment. Strong skills in electrical design practices, basic understanding of control systems, ability to complete electrical engineering drawings, manage requirements, and software development (C / C++ or LabVIEW). Ability to follow strict safety protocols, elevate concerns, follow highly detailed instructions, document discrepancies and resolve conflicts in instructions, tasks or designs. Detail oriented and an ability to remain highly focused during complex test processes. Must meet requirements to obtain a secret security clearance. Ability to lift 50 lbs on a routine basis. Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.Basic Qualifications Principal Engineer Electromechanical (Level 3): Requires a Bachelors' degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience; or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of professional experience Requires strong knowledge of electrical and electronic theory, the ability to apply that knowledge to duties involved in engineering functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, installation and maintenance of electronic equipment. Strong skills in electrical design practices, basic understanding of control systems, ability to complete electrical engineering drawings, manage requirements, and software development (C / C++ or LabVIEW). Ability to follow strict safety protocols, elevate concerns, follow highly detailed instructions, document discrepancies and resolve conflicts in instructions, tasks or designs. Detail oriented and an ability to remain highly focused during complex test processes. Must meet requirements to obtain a secret security clearance. Ability to lift 50 lbs on a routine basis. Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.Preferred Skills: Experience to include; reading, drawing and interpreting schematic diagrams, practical circuit design experience, practical software development experience, configuring and operating data collection systems such as LabView / National Instruments. The ability to specify, design, develop, setup and install complex rocket motor test arrangements using engineering direction, drawings and instructions.Preference given to military electronics or avionics experience, Navy nuclear experience, or engineering technology degree.This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.Salary Range: $78,600.00 - $118,000.00Salary Range 2: $96,900.00 - $145,300.00Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
