2022-123214This opening is for a recently awarded program that delivers a wide set of capabilities across the enterprise to include data management, data delivery, high ingest rate cloud architectures, and analytic platforms.This position is for a Linux Systems Administrator who can independently perform the full spectrum of tasks: racking and wiring server hardware, installing the base OS, hardening it for security compliance, configuring network settings, configuring local and remote drives, configuring users, scripting and automating tasks. The candidate will be working in a research environment where you may be called upon to set up new hardware or software that is unknown to you and you will be expected to complete the task independently by using technical documentation and internet resources to self-troubleshoot any problems.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.Fifteen (15) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is requiredWorking knowledge of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integrationSix (6) years of experience with Unix and/or LinuxActive TS/SCI security clearance and a current polygraph is required.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of analytical needs and requirements, query syntax, data flows, and traffic manipulationProgramming skills in C, Perl or Bourne Shell along with experience providing system administration of a database-centric system and knowledge of RDBMS, SQL Server and database security featuresExperience administering Solaris, UNIX, or LINUX systemsApplicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
