Crystal Management is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business.Position SummaryCrystal Management is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to support our Joint Service Provider (JSP) Enterprise Transport Management Next-Gen (ETM-NG) program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. This position is full-time onsite due to the nature of the work. Telecommuting is not allowed.ResponsibilitiesProvide architecture/engineering expertise for network implementations, cloud environment integrations, project designs, and standards development, as well as onboarding new tenantsProvide administration/support for intelligent DNS routing between enterprise locations/data centers, as well as plan and implement upgrades (including installation of new equipment)Implement approved authentication and certificate management controlsUse caching (static HTML content) for the enterprise infrastructure environment (hardware, software, and configuration components) and supported tenantsSupport deployment optionsConfigure self IPs, port lockdown, and network routesConfigure remote logging to SplunkAdhere to change management processes and proceduresTroubleshoot, configure, upgrade, maintain, and monitor the load balancer network architecture (performance, configurations, traffic flow, application monitoring, CPU capacity/utilization)Analyze network alarms and identify sourcesCoordinate with on-site support personnel while troubleshootingUse enterprise service management tools to initiate, respond, and track service requestsCreate reports and analyze performance metricsDevelop processes/procedures and related engineering documentation for troubleshooting and quickly identifying issuesPerform reach back to OEM Vendors to de-conflict operational issues with known operating system bugs and security alertsPartner with the information security personnel to assess potential exposure to vulnerabilities, identify mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with enterprise security baselines and standardsEvaluate modern technologies to optimize network efficiency and review/provide recommendations to improve the networkInform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issuesBe responsive and decisive in adjusting architecture as customer requirements and technology evolvesEducation/Certification RequirementsBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Equivalent; Master's degree preferredDoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (eg, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP)A nationally recognized certification for senior network administrators/engineers/architects tied to the proposed solution's routers and switchesRequired Qualifications5+ years primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches5+ years primary role directly designing, architecting routed, and switching networks up to and including enterprise-sized networking solutions.2+ years as senior or lead engineer in planning, designing, and building software-defined networks3+ years of DoD environmentConfiguring and installing various network devices and servicesMonitoring network performance and resource utilization, trending, capacity planningUse of current and emergent network design principles and protocolsExperience with network virtualization technologiesExperience with multi-tenant network architecturesFamiliarity with a wide variety of network routing and switching equipment devices from multiple vendorsScripting languages such as Pearl, and Python, coding for network threshold events.Clearance RequirementsActive Secret security clearanceCOVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: To protect the health and safety of its employees and to comply with customer requirements, employees in certain positions may be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
