Overview: The American Enterprise Institute's (AEI) Human Resources and Talent Development team seeks an in-person, full-time intern for fall 2022. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about promoting a superior employee experience and building human resources skills, all while promoting top-notch public policy ideas and the mission of AEI. This position will focus on numerous areas of human resources-from recruiting to talent and onboarding, off-boarding, wellness, and culture. In contributing to broad human resources programs, the HR and Talent Development intern will learn invaluable skills for a career in human resources, business, operations, or management in a think tank environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who is motivated by delivering high-quality, meticulous results, proactively communicating with colleagues at all levels, and exhibiting extraordinary customer service skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a high level of discretion are paramount. Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated interest in public policy and the mission of AEIBachelor's degree (or working toward a BA) in liberal arts, human resources, or a related disciplineInvolvement in extracurricular or professional experience (internships, jobs, etc.) that demonstrates leadership skills and abilityExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage and multiple simultaneous deadlinesThere will be two start dates for the fall program: September 13 and September 20, 2022. The program will run for a minimum of 10 weeks, although most interns' end dates fall around mid-December. Please see the internship homepage for more updates about the program. Intern Scholarship ProgramIn the fall of 2022, AEI will offer up to 12 intern candidates a $1,000 monthly living stipend as part of a need-based scholarship program. Our hope is to allow students to reap the academic, professional, and personal benefits of interning at AEI with the added support of financial assistance. About AEI InternshipsAEI internships offer a unique opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain experience in research, writing, business, and communications at one of the nation's leading think tanks. Competitive candidates will generally possess a 3.4 GPA or higher from a top-ranking college or university. AEI internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, and interns are required to work 20-40 hours per week. AEI internships are unpaid; however, applicants may apply for the intern scholarship opportunity.
