Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) has immediate opportunity for a Lead Data Engineer located in Washington DC This is an exciting opportunity to join a group of 90 software engineers using the latest technologies to solve the hardest problems of our nation. This is a hybrid (combination of remote and onsite) opportunity! The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (Q/SCI). Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for designing, building and deploying scalable data pipelines and analytics/machine learning solutions.Explore new scientific data and create robust datasetsCreate data pipelines to store in large databases (terabytes and petabytes)Create new data analysis tools to tackle national level problemsParticipate in Agile development, including Scrum meetings, standups and demosStay current about data management and database technology developmentsQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field8+ years of experience designing or deploying large-scale and high performance ETL pipelines and analytics8+ years of software development experience including Python and C#8+ years of experience with SQL and Data ModelingStrong understanding of relational databases, NoSQL databases and query authoringAbility to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (Q/SCI)About PNNL:Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is a different kind of national lab.
