Summary of the Position : We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our Downstream Process Development Department - NanoFlu, who can fulfill job requirements listed below. This position will be located at our Gaithersburg, MD facility and will report to the Manager of Downstream Process Development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Maintaining inventory of lab supplies and ordering lab consumables as needed Responsible for preparation of buffers Responsible for bench scale column packing Performs testing of in-process samples such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, A280 (Nanodrop), BCA, DNA, and host cell protein assays Performs washing and decontamination of glassware and distributing to appropriate locations within the laboratories Operates the glass washing instruments and autoclaves as needed Coordinate with lab staff to schedule and perform lab related tasks Assists in shipping and receiving of supplies Performs other related duties as required Minimum requirements : Minimum of a high school diploma; 0-2 years experience in a pharmaceutical industry or laboratory operations is preferred Excellent organization and communications skills Novavax offers a base salary, annual bonus, equity grants, professional career development/growth opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, Rx, STD, LTD, Life, Optional Life, 401(k) plan.
