Duties
The incumbent will be responsible for expanding and optimizing data and optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems. The incumbent will support the FAA in making data-driven decisions. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing the FAA's data collection and analysis processes to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H / FG/GS-10-12. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience may include but not limited to: Experience with data management to include collection, analysis, trending, and reporting of data utilizing resources such as SQL, Oracle, PowerBI, and/or Tableau.
Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
If the Agency decides to interview any qualified employee on the selection list, then all on the list who are qualified must be interviewed. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. In addition, they will be responsible for the following:
- Assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
- Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Using the systems required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL (Structured Query Language), Apache NiFi and other technologies.
- Working with one or more object-oriented/functional programming and scripting languages: Python, Java Scala, PowerShell, Transact-SQL, etc.
- Building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, and lineage
