We embrace a vision to help our clients transform the way their complex projects are planned, designed, built, and managed.The successful Construction Cost Estimator candidate(s) will be critical team members of our proven government/commercial cost estimating and project management teams to work onsite at our client site in Arlington, VA. Interested candidates should have a thorough understanding of construction means and methods and should be able to successfully develop construction cost estimates for horizontal and vertical construction in diverse locations. Duties include, but are not limited to, independent cost estimate preparation at all phases of design, cost estimate reviews/validations, value engineering cost support, facility programming cost support, cost analysis, economic analysis, life cycle costs and contingency/risk analysis. Direct experience in commercial and military construction with the Department of Defense's Military Construction and Civil Works and the Department of Energy is desired. Cost Engineering certification and experience using MCACES (MII), PACES, Success, Primavera, Crystal Ball and other cost engineering applications are a plus.Job Requirements: US CitizenshipExpertise in engineering, construction, construction management, and cost estimating, or related fieldMinimum five (5) years commercial/federal construction cost estimating experienceMust have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilitiesKnowledge of construction market in area of operation including pricing conventions and trendsAbility to prepare budget/conceptual cost estimates from limited informationAbility to read and interpret construction blueprints and other design documentsAbility to perform accurate detailed quantity take-offs.Must have excellent communication and presentation skillsSolid organization, planning, collaboration, and leadership skillsEffectively coordinate and work independently with the client and stakeholders to accurately identify and capture project requirementsDemonstrated proficiency with Internet and Microsoft Office SuiteCCP or CEP certification (or ability to achieve within six months)A Plus: Four-year college degree (BS) in Engineering, Construction Management or related fieldCurrent CCP or CEP certificationExperience with USACE, AFCEE, NAVFAC or DOE construction programsProfessional Engineering Registration (or ability to achieve registration within one year)Experience with MII, PACES, RSMeans, and Success EstimatorProject Lead and Multi-Discipline estimating experienceProject scheduling and risk analysis experience
