Having served the Washington, DC region since 1907, our client's medical center is a 209-inpatient bed, quickly expanding, state-of-the-art facility opened in 2019. This role leads the first comprehensive cardiac center in Montgomery County and provides the most advanced, least invasive heart care with skill, compassion, and experience.The Director of Surgical Operations will oversee all aspects of the perioperative service line including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, as well as oversight of the budget and capital expenditures. Qualified candidates will have significant experience leading perioperative services at a hospital or medical center with a strong record of measurable success.Responsibilities:Facilitate a work environment that meets individual and organizational needs.Provide guidance and direction that moves the surgical team towards common goals utilizing resources that support the organizational mission and goals.Work with the team and support related career goals.Develop and monitor cost controls to utilize time, material, and personnel resources effectively and efficiently.Monitor the quality of patient care delivery services to meet standards and accrediting criteria of JACHO, MD State standards, and other applicable specialty standards.Evaluate staffing productivity and formulate plans to improve as needed.Reports findings and plan to CNO.Utilize all aspects of the performance management cycle to help staff best fulfill their jobDemonstrate performance improvement knowledge and coordinate the department's performance improvement activities.Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients in their assigned unit/department.Qualifications:MD licensed RN with Bachelor's Degree requiredMaster's Degree preferred5 years of experience in clinical nursing practice required5-7 years of supervisory experience required, preferably Director-level
