What will I be doing? The Lead Software Engineer, Automation applies technical skills to design and code Robotic Process Automation (RPA) applications. This position works with build managers, business architects, outsourced teams, and other IT domain experts as part of the Corporate Systems build team. This position is a critically important technical resource deployed within the context of business technology automation projects to ensure overall stability and performance of our world-class applications. As a Lead Software Engineer at Hilton, you are expected to be fluent with complex software development concepts and methodologies and current development languages and methods. Specifically, this position develops, tests, debugs, and documents application systems to achieve the objectives detailed in the business requirements. Using deep technical expertise and analytical skills, the Lead Software Engineer works closely with Build Managers, Solution and Platform Architects, and multi-functional teams to use technical skills and judgment to develop solutions that meet business requirements for Hilton Worldwide automation applications and platforms. More specifically, you will: Develop, integrate, and unit test applications Provides production support by solving Incidents/Problems and participates in continuous improvement efforts Delivers maintenance and enhancements for existing software or packaged applications Adheres to coding standards/procedures and participates in code reviews Ensures that all solution development is aligned to architectural standards throughout the Agile development process Assists Tester in crafting and ensuring the overall integrity of the test plan Helps define and set standard methodologies for the Corporate Systems Build organization Mentor team members to facilitate and guide the growth in technical subject areas incorporated at Hilton Demonstrates the ability to engage and work with Solution and Platform architects to drive solutions to complex problems in accordance with the strategic vision established by Technology Executives What are we looking for? The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills: Experience with 'as a service' platforms or relevant hosting environments Direct experience developing automation solutions using RPA products is a plus Agile software development and relevant processes Contemporary Agile development methodologies (eg SAFe) Agile problem-solving techniques and decision making principles Work independently without significant oversite to follow requirements and develop solutions Ability to build a technical specification and product design from published requirements Demonstrates a proficiency in the technology in use to code/configure quality solutions that require limited rework and meet business / end-user needs by adhering to standard methodologies Learn new technologies and expand skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization Ability to manage complex and multiple tasks with minimal supervision Solid experience with .Net and SQL platforms To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications: Seven (7) years of professional experience in Technology or related field Five (5) years of experience working with .NET and MS SQL Experience in developing automated processes using Blueprism, Automation Anywhere, or UI Path Travel up to 15% of time as needed It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions: Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience Nine (9) years of experience in Technology or related field Three (3) years of experience working with Financial systems and applications What is it like working for Hilton?
