This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a leading consulting firm in Washington, DC The salary range for this position is 115k-120k plus excellent benefits and an annual bonus of up to 10%. This position is hybrid with 2-3 days a week in the office. Summary:The Infrastructure Engineer manages the corporate data center and branch office server and networking infrastructure. With a primary focus on systems handling virtualization, storage, backup, and connectivity. The position installs, manages, and maintains critical infrastructure, performing system upgrades, monitoring server and network health, troubleshooting issues, and escalating through appropriate channels when needed.Responsibilities:Monitor and report on firm-wide network status. The network includes Active Directory, network connectivity, virtualizing systems, backup and storage appliances.Monitor and maintain backup systems, validating backup integrity, performing data restores and disaster recovery tests, and provide input regarding firm-wide backup strategies.Monitor and maintain VMWare infrastructures, including vSphere, vCenter, VSAN, virtual machines, and physical and virtual networks.Monitor and maintain enterprise compute and storage systems including Dell/EMC VxRail, Isilon, and Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA).Open and escalate vendor support tickets when needed, working over remote sessions to troubleshoot and resolve issues.Coordinate changes and system management with other network operations staff.Troubleshoot software, hardware, network issues, communicating to management and escalating through appropriate support channels.Apply system and OS patches, upgrades, and vulnerability mitigations.Determine the root cause of problems and document their resolution.Troubleshoot network connectivity problems (DNS, WINS, TCP/IP, FTP, remote access, wireless connections, antivirus/antispam software, etc.)Assist in establishing standards and document these standards.Maintain the security and integrity of Cornerstone's network and computer systems.Respond to network outages 24x7 and participate in team on-call rotation.Requirements:5+ years of relevant IT experience that demonstrates increasing capability and responsibility; experience in a professional services firm preferred3+ years of experience with Microsoft Server and Active Directory services3+ years of experience administering VMWare (vSphere, vCenter, VSAN)VMWare Certification preferredExperience with Dell Storage, VxRail, and Data Protection Suite preferredLinux Experience preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience requiredThe desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firmThe ability to communicate effectively and professionallyStrong business acumen and the ability to learn the firm's financial and operational functionsThe mindset to provide superior service
