Connect with us on LinkedIn: All candidates must have Work Authorization in the United States and at least clearable for receiving a Public Trust level clearance.Location: Columbia, Maryland - on-site hybrid position.Job SummarySkyward IT Solutions is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a background in automation to join an agile Federal project team based in Columbia, Maryland.What you'll do:Develop and execute maintainable and reusable automation tests for acceptance, functional, and regression test cases.Investigate and debug test failures throughout the life cycle of scripting, updating tests or reporting bugs as necessary and provide test coverage analysis based on automation results.Participate in the full life cycle of an agile project and design and execute manual and automated test scripts.Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed.Design and develop automation code, scripts, utilities, data generators, and other programmatic test tools as required to execute tests.Understand product needs advising on and designing testing strategies.Effectively communicate testing activities, findings, and project risk in oral and written formats.Continually look for ways to innovate and improve the testing process to gain efficiencies.Effectively communicate testing activities, findings, and risks in verbal and written formats.Collaborate directly with software engineers, product owners, and other members of the testing team in Columbia, Maryland.Requirements:3+ years knowledge and experience of visual automated testing and techniques leveraging Selenium Framework for web-based solutions as a software developer, engineer, or a tester.3+ years of experience in OOP (Object Oriented Programing) preferably in JAVA, Python, Maven, and JavaScript. Candidate should be able to demonstrate how to design, develop, and maintain automation framework while following industry best practices.1+ years of experience and understanding of one or more different agile methodologies, including Scrum, Lean, or SAFe.Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with customers, management, and lead and mentor team members.Proficient spelling, grammar, and communication skills.Core working hours for this position start at 9:30am ET in Columbia, MarylandAll candidates must have Work Authorization in the United States and at least clearable for receiving a Public Trust level clearance.Preferences:Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology.Experience in code reviews and testing tools including:Code Repository: GitHub, BitBucket, SourceTree, or similar git-based solutionsCode Coverage: Jacoco, OpenClover, or similarStatic Code Analysis: SonarQubeAutomation: Jenkins and Allure Reporter integrationUnderstanding of fundamental web technologies and languages including: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JSONFamiliarity and knowledge of DevOps / DevTestOps / DevSecOps best practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and software development life cycle (SDLC).Experience diagnosing issues, report defects, and propose regression tests to discover reoccurrences.Experience with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.Familiarity with delivering software within the Federal Contracting space including at the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS).Skyward IT Solutions is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
