Summary
The Reporting and Communications Specialist position will support USAID's M/MPBP/Performance Division through centralized reporting, communications, and analysis.
Structurally, the position will reside in the Performance Division which oversees USAID's central functions related to operational planning, performance, reporting, and internal customer service. In turn, the Performance Division is part of M/MPBP, which functions as the Bureau for Management's central unit for the Agency's operating expense budget planning and implementation, management policy formulation, operational performance monitoring and assessment, administrative support services, and compliance and oversight, to implement the USAID suspension and debarment program.

Responsibilities
- Draft internal and external communications in support of the Government Performance and Results Act Modernization Act (https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/BILLS-111hr2142enr/pdf/BILLS-111hr2142enr.pdf) (GPRAMA), the President's Management Agenda (https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Presidents-Management-Agenda.pdf) , and other legislative and government-wide needs.
- Plan and execute communications campaigns related to government-wide or Agency initiatives supporting operations improvement, change management, and customer service.
- Support data-driven reviews, coordination, and other efforts to assess progress toward Agency goals and objectives.
- Incorporate performance data into presentations both written and verbal, to highlight successes and identify challenges, including results of quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- Draft progress reports for Agency initiatives, like the Agency Priority Goals (https://www.performance.gov/state/APG_usaid_2.html) .
- Update internal and external websites.
- Provide final copy editing and formatting of documents prior to publication.
- Plan and think strategically.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration/Policy, Communications, or a related field and 1+ years of specialized experience assisting in at least one of the following:
- Handling internal and external communications to build brand recognition and/or meet reporting requirements
- Communicating effectively in written and oral communications, like progress reports
- Using data and metrics to communicate progress and challenges, including graphic presentations of data and trends
- Building interpersonal relationships and working across diverse offices
- Demonstrating diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility management knowledge of basic concepts and best practices on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility and maintain good working relationships within interdisciplinary teams in a multicultural environment
- Maintain the ability to support overall agency DEIA strategy and efforts
- Ability to pass a background check and the ability to obtain a USAID Facilities clearance is required
- The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief
