This long-term contract / temporary to hire Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Baltimore, Maryland. You will succeed in this position if you're confident you can establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements.Key responsibilities- Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing- Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules- Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers- Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements- Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions- Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records- Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections Requirements - Excel experience desired- Strong organization skills- Payroll experience preferred- Practical knowledge of Ledger Account Analysis- Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)- Proficiency in billing- Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Excel- Experience with Amortization schedules is a plus- Earlier work involving Sage 300- General familiarity with account analysis- Quality experience with general ledger- Accounts Payable (AP) experience- Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations- Proven knowledge of payroll- Well-founded grasp of journal entries- Good understanding of full charge bookkeeping- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting- Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports- High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred- Ability to multitask effectively- Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments- 3+ years of experience in the bookkeeping fieldRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
