The selected candidate for this position will report to the Northrop Grumman Mission System located in Annapolis Junction, MD.As a an Embedded Software Engineer the candidate will: design, develop, operate and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated in accordance with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements: apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems: interface with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel.This candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities. He/she will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish the team goals. The candidate will work closely with other developers to accomplish the following: Develop, document, and maintain embedded software both individually and as part of a larger team Support team in integrating various sensors into a larger platform Assist in the creation of hardware integration and test setups Experience developing Android applications for embedded systems (Android SDK, Android Studio) Experience with software development Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, and/or Code Composer Studio Experience with hardware interfaces such as: 1553, Ethernet, Serial and/or PCI-E Experience with software development for testability, manufacturability, and maintainability Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills Experience with Linux OS Proven communication and presentation skillsBasic Qualifications: A current and active TS/SCI Clearance is required 5+ years of Software Development experience 2+ years of Embedded Software Development experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Object Oriented programming Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Ability to analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements Ability to design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features Ability to debug existing software and correct defects. Experience with C, C++, Linux OS Experience with real-time embedded hardware systems Solid understanding of software development processes for real-time embedded applicationsPreferred Qualifications: Java DevelopmentA cents € cents JavaScript A cents € cents SQL A cents € cents Spring Framework Experience Experience with version control, issue tracking and collaboration tools such as ClearCase/ClearQuest, Git, Github, and/or Jira. AngularJS Framework Experience Web Application Development An interest and/or ability to develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories Software Engineers development experience with Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Visual Studio and digital engineers Experience using Vivado and/or Quartus to develop Programmable Logic capabilities. Code reviews and configuration management enabled by GitLab products Solve complex problems through innovative and creative solutions. Collaborate effectively in a team environment across business areas to accomplish team and program goals Facilitate and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work independently and with a team Experience in the development of embedded systems (RTOS, device drivers, etc.) Experience with software/hardware integrationSalary Range: $0.00 - $0.00Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
