Senior Vice President, Public Relations Full-time Regular Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1238 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*Create and execute the integrated PR and social relations strategy for Preferred Hotel Group (corporate entity), ensuring effective dissemination of strategic, informative communications globally regarding its corporate strategy, long term priorities, and brands that resonate with target audiences; continuously refine the strategy to incorporate new story lines and innovative communications tactics*Manage a global team of associates who specialize in PR and social media, as well as select external agencies, providing strategic counsel on the creation and execution of integrated campaigns to share news of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Beyond Green, and PTG Consulting, and related destination and hospitality clients; oversee and participate in activities, as needed*Support the longevity of the company's internal PR and social media agency and its impact on the organization by helping foster scalability and functionality of the department and identifying ways to expand its capabilities across brands and external client audiences (existing and potential)*Ideate and brainstorm PR and integrated media relations programs for all Preferred Hotel Group entities (existing and future)*Serve as an executive sponsor for PTG Consulting client relations; play an active role in PTG Consulting new business opportunities and client campaigns, as needed*Oversee the management of PR and social media budgets for Preferred Hotel Group, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, and Beyond Green*Fulfill traditional PR duties, as needed, with a focus on securing interviews, speaking engagements, and other thought leadership opportunities for key company executives*Collaborate with other department heads - particularly marketing, loyalty, corporate communications, sales, and brand creative - to identify newsworthy stories that support Preferred Hotel Group's strategic priorities statement; work with them to develop and execute campaigns for Preferred Hotel Group and its brands, as required*Identify and formulate partnerships with external companies (ie media outlets, consumer brands, etc.) to enhance the Preferred Hotel Group brand, as well as that of its brands, to extend the company's awareness reach, as appropriate*Serve as an in-house media representative and spokesperson for any Preferred Hotel Group entity, as needed, to include crisis situations*Serve as a mentor and lead example for the company's PR and social media team related to client management, quality assurance, staff development, and strategic guidance*In collaboration with Corporate Communications, support the company's executive team with thought leadership messaging and presentation support (ie presentation decks, talking points, etc.) for panel appearances, trade events, and other internal and external opportunities*Stay updated on public relations trends and use the knowledge to positively impact and improve efforts executed on behalf of the company, its brands, and its clients; provide guidance to member hotels and clients on best practices, as needed*Maintain and grow productive media relationships globally *Accept any additional Preferred Hotel Group duties, as assignedQUALIFICATIONS*Naturally curious, driven, compassionate, and collaborative with a passion for storytelling, travel/hospitality, and global cultures*Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Public Relations. Agency experience working with clients based outside of the United States is required. Travel/hospitality experience required. Experience with a corporate entity that has geographic and other complexities is preferred.*Extensive knowledge of and strong relationships with global- and Americas-specific media outlets, journalists, editors, and social media influencers*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing on behalf of company executives*Minimum 10 years of experience leading global teams, inclusive of internal colleagues and external agencies*Experience developing and implementing integrated communications strategies, inclusive of corporate communications, PR, and social media efforts targeting internal and external audiences, with a demonstrated record of success *Knowledge of hotel industry, tourism trends, and international destinations*Proven people leadership skills *Demonstrated ability for working on tight deadlines in fast-paced environments*Availability to travel globally*Ability to effectively manage multiple hands-on roles and concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities*Educated to degree level or show a similar level of professional development in journalism, public relations, marketing, or related fieldDISCLAIMER: The above information on this job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by associates within this classification.
