The Olympic Mountain range and the Straits of Juan de Fuca provide the backdrop for Healthy Families of Clallam County, a small non-profit agency providing services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse/neglect, stalking and other crimes. We have advocated for survivors in this community since 1971. Our mission statement is: "Healthy Families of Clallam County's mission is to provide a wide range of services empowering children, youth, adults and families to achieve their full potential, improve their physical, mental and emotional health and live free of violence and abuse. To accomplish this mission, Healthy Families of Clallam County provides child abuse prevention and treatment services including parenting classes, support groups, educational clinics for divorcing parents and in-home parent aides; domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, 24-hour crisis intervention, counseling, systems, medical and legal advocacy, emergency and transitional shelter and client services to victims of general crimes." The Executive Director manages the daily operations of the agency and its programs, services and staff within the framework and guidelines established by the Board of Directors. The successful candidate must have work and life experience that demonstrates an understanding of domestic violence and sexual violence and how they intersect with other forms of oppression. A Master's level degree in a field relevant to the job is preferred but is not required. A minimum of 4 years of experience as a manager or director of a community based not-for-profit agency is required. Applicants shall have competency in respect to gender-based violence, services, systems advocacy, and issues relating to domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse and child abuse. Have experience in promoting and engaging an environment in which staff and management can voice their ideas and concerns in collaborative efforts. Good humor, patience and humility is a must in dealing with all aspects of the job! Healthy Families houses the only accredited children's advocacy center on the peninsula. The Executive Director also writes grants and funding proposals. The ED builds and maintains effective relationships within the service community by representing Healthy Families of Clallam County at public meetings and events and nurtures collaborative relationships with community leaders. The Executive Director provides other services and performs other tasks as may be assigned by the Board of Directors.
