As a B2B Research Director, you will manage, mentor and develop a team of early to mid-career researchers, strengthen existing client relationships, and pitch winning proposals to new clients, with a focus on B2B research for the technology sector. This role may be located in any of Known's offices, or remotely within the United States. Unfortunately we are not sponsoring employment visas to work in the USA at this time. The B2B Quantitative Director Role As a B2B Research Director, you will manage, mentor and develop a team of early to mid-career researchers, strengthen existing client relationships, and pitch winning proposals to new clients, with a focus specifically on B2B research for the technology sector. Here is some of what you will do in your role: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Research Managers, Consultants, and Analysts - usually between 2-4 people. Work with Managers to find their voice - finding creative research approaches, developing solid analysis plans, story-telling / building narratives, and presenting effectively to clients. Work with Consultants and Analysts to ensure their growth on foundational skills - technical, project management, and client-management related. Work with our Talent team and senior leadership on innovation as a manager and talent developer. Oversee a portfolio of projects, in particular B2B clients in the technology sector Managers and Consultants lead project engagements and you are their brainstorming partner across all phases of the work You will typically oversee 6-8 projects at a time - we manage this number carefully so that you and your team members feel that you can approach your work collaboratively and creatively. Ensure the health of the team and act as cultural standard-bearers - we want all of our employees to find the best version of their career at Known and you are responsible for making sure your team feels empowered and supported in this goal. Build client relationships Use your excellent client management skills to continue driving Known's long-standing and deep relationships with existing clients. Build compelling proposals that win projects and new clients. Attract new business by networking and pursuing leads. Your Background Includes 8+ years of custom B2B quantitative market research experience at a market research firm, consulting agency, or technology company in a quant market research role. Superior people management skills and a toolkit of techniques to mentor, develop, and engage a team Expertise in survey design, analysis planning, conducting advanced statistical analysis, and reporting to high level clients at technology companies Time and project management expertise, knowledge of research techniques and methodologies, applied advanced-analytics appropriate methods and interpretation, and the research sales/scoping process, etc. Passionate about technology and staying up to date with B2B trends and issues affecting our clients' businesses, for example public cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, etc. Fluency in conversing on strategic marketing problems, a practical understanding of what our clients are trying to achieve, and the technical experience to know how best to approach these problems. Specific examples include: Early stage market opportunity assessment Customer segmentation (eg, using Latent Class Clustering) and needs assessment Feature/needs prioritization to support product development (eg, using MaxDiff, TURF analysis) Pricing/Packaging/Product Portfolio optimization (eg, using Conjoint) Path-to-Purchase research Value Proposition development Positioning and Messaging research Brand Tracking and/or Media Tracking research Superb communication, narrative-building, and presentation skills. Experience in a statistical package such as SPSS, SAS, Q; experience in R and Python is a plus. Knowledge of media buying, and how research can help optimize media buying is a plus Office and/or G-Suite proficiency #LI-TF1 #LI-Remote
