Duties

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

This position is located in the Asset Management Directorate, Logistics and Support, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House). This position will directly contribute to the ongoing modernization of House technology and business processes while completing various aspects of daily operations. Successful candidates will have experience with financial audits, fixed asset transactions, internal controls, key metrics reporting, automated accounting systems, customer service, staff development, and communication to diverse audiences.

The position has day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage the Asset Lifecycle Compliance team's audits and transactions
• Record assets accurately to comply with Federal and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Complete month-end close of PeopleSoft Asset Management module
• Supervise the ongoing preparation of management reports
• Analyze and reconcile asset management system and general ledger accounts
• Measure financial and operational performance data utilizing metrics and KPIs
• Validate the accuracy of accounting records through reconciliations
• Maintain a system of controls to mitigate the potential for lost, damaged, and stolen items
• Implement industry best practices to innovate Asset Lifecycle Management processes
• Safeguard and ensure proper stewardship over all House capital and accountable assets
• Lead staff in delivering excellent customer service to all House members and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of Financial or Fixed Asset Management experience required
• Minimum 5 years of recent progressively responsible leadership and managerial experience required
• Ability to manage cross-functional or interdisciplinary employee teams
• Working knowledge of Federal and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial management
• Experience working with various automated accounting systems, PeopleSoft preferred
• Solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks at once
• Willing to take on new opportunities and openness to change
• Must meet all applicable U.S. government employment eligibility requirements
