Sr. Associate, Technical Product Owner, Small Business Card

Small businesses are the backbone of America and a vital part of the economy as a whole. Their success is essential to economic growth and prosperity. For Capital One's Small Business Credit Card (SBC) organization, we aspire to be the leading small business purchasing program in the United States. This is supported by our passion to help small businesses succeed. We are focused on growing new accounts and spend potential, delivering undeniably great products and services. We are investing in products and services built for heavy spending small businesses, enhanced data capabilities, and business-grade marketing and distribution.

Small businesses have unique spending needs and sometimes great opportunities come along that require them to amp up their spending quickly, well beyond a traditional credit limit. The team recently launched a new No Preset Spending Limit (NPSL) Charge Card (Pay in Full) product that adjusts with the business' needs in order to give them the spending capacity they deserve without being constrained by traditional credit limits. This is where you come in! As the product scales up, you will help build a short-term lending capability on the product to give our customers peace of mind and confidence to spend on our product.

  • Solve a big unmet need for SBOs
  • Build a completely new capability (0 to 1 problem), including the E2E customer experience
  • Develop hypotheses and testing plan to maximize desired outcomes
  • Opportunity to familiarize with back-end technology and services across card, which are the backbone of how we build new capabilities and solve customer problems
  • Opportunity to scale our capabilities and features to other products across Capital One

What you will do:
  • Create strategy and roadmap for the product
  • Manage tech team(s)
    • Roadmap & Sprint Planning
    • Attend all ceremonies
    • Identify dependencies & coordinate across partner teams
    • Provide leadership updates
  • Work closely with business, tech, design, and marketing teams to continuously refine intent and ensure we are building the best possible capabilities to meet our customer needs and business objectives
    • Connect and build on platforms across the Capital One ecosystem
    • Iterate on UI and new functionality
    • User Testing
    • Incorporate feedback from analytics
    • Develop KPIs and testing plans

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of product management experience or at least 1 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
  • 1+ years translating business strategy or analysis into digital products
