  • Provide guidance on forensic technical matters in support of the DoD Forensic Executive Committee, Coordination Steering Group, and other associated working groups as required.
  • Make recommendations regarding forensic technical official positions on numerous national level strategic directives and policy statements.
  • Conduct evaluations and reviews on forensic policy, directives, and other Department of Defense (DoD), Joint Staff, and Combat Command (CCMD) staff actions.
  • Develop, integrate, capture, maintain, and communicates DFBA forensics technical analysis for policy guidance and standards in support of DFBA and Headquarters Department of the Army.
  • Review forensic technical directives, instructions, regulations, and standard operating procedures for potential impacts to DoD forensics.
  • Conduct organized assessments and evaluations to understand and evaluate forensics technical issues to inform decision making, policy development, system development, management, or administration of processes.
  • Develop and maintain Army historical document collection regarding forensic technology to ensure the availability of key historical source documents, for the significant actions, events, and issues of the command.
  • Identify issues on contemporary and future forensic technology impacts to DoD policy and regulations, and assists with conducting analysis of implications and alternatives.


Conditions of Employment

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TDY travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work conducting organized analytical assessments and evaluations to understand and/or evaluate forensics technical issues to inform decision making, policy development, system development, management, and/or administration of organizational processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
