Communications Applications & Service SpecialistGeorge Mason University, Information Technology Services (ITS) - located on the Fairfax, Va., campus - invites applications for a Communications Applications & Service Specialist within the Enterprise Collaboration Office (EC). George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the University's unified communications with emphasis on telecommunications services and applications. Duties include but are not limited to unified communications system administration, application programming, configuration, training, and trouble resolution. This position provides customer support, coordination, and administrative project coordination for special projects in conjunction with University mandated move projects. The incumbent is also a part of a team responsible for telephony/collaboration ticket triage, which includes project coordination, technical customer consultations, needs analysis and assessments, problem resolution and recommendations.Required Qualifications:Associates degree in telecommunications or related field, or equivalent vendor training, or equivalent Unified Communications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience;Provide consultation services on advanced telephony systems and applications;Must be proficient in working with a computer, and various telephony application databases;Must be able to recognize collaboration/telephony system performance issues and report appropriately;Demonstrates ability to provide training to clients on the use of unified communications including but not limited to telephony and collaboration features with the ability to document practices and procedure;The incumbent must be able to troubleshoot user problems, administer daily moves, adds and changes; andEffective interpersonal communications and customer service skills.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge in managing order processing system software (2nd Nature);Knowledge of Calero/Pinnacle billing system;Familiar with Call Pilot and App Builder;Ability to adapt to new a unified communications software platform for programming all collaboration features; andFamiliar with collaboration tools such as Zoom and MS Teams.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.George Mason University is a great place to work where employees are given an opportunity to develop skills and expand horizons.
