Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an HIM Medical Records Clerk who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As an HIM Medical Records Clerk, you will:
•Collects, prepares, scans and verifies medical records documentation, compile patient specific and statistical reports and other types of data as requested.
•Analyze health record documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
•Identify and resolve risks and/or anomalies of documentation in medical record
•Gather /compile charts from multiple sources for audit purposes
•Participate in the preparation of medical records for daily operational functions
•Input and or submit data to registries as per regulations
•Trouble shoot HIM other support systems, as directed by HIM leadership
•Supports supervisor in developing reports based on audit findings from internal or external customers
•Perform data collection for quality reporting (i.e core measures, PIMC, medical necessity etc.)
•Performs improvement functions through collection, abstraction and documentation review of medical records.
•Is responsible for timely production of hybrid medical records, as per the directive of the HIMS manager/supervisor, for distribution to all pertinent departments.
•Forwards monthly statistical reports to the manager and supervisor by the 10th day of each new month.
•Prepares medical records for performance improvement studies and service committees, meeting established deadlines.
•Performs other HIM related duties
•Willingly accepts assignments as directed to maximize daily department operations.

Qualified candidates will possess:
• Associate's degree required or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) preferred.
• Minimum of at least 1 year experience in healthcare field, HIM preferred
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), computer keyboard, data entry, and business machinery
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology normally acquired in a classroom setting or obtained through on the job training
• Ability to operate or learn to operate multiple computer systems and software to include transcription, Document Management System (DMS) and Master Patient Index (MPI)
