AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP's millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

The VP of Data Services is the strategic lead responsible for setting the vision, strategy and focus of ASI's data infrastructure and analytics service offering. This person will oversee data on behalf of AARP in the context of AARP's brand licensing model with over 50 commercial organizations to include data infrastructure, exchange and quality control oversight. Additionally they will l ead data strategy, sciences and analytics for an emerging service offering, designed to improve the relevancy and performance of member marketing programs. This person will Identify new sources of enriched data both within and outside of AARP - to enhance AARP's B2B data assets and the strength of ASI's 3 rd party offering. Lastly, they provide leadership in highly matrixed organization and supports development of high performance team.


  • Creates and oversees the vision, strategy, and ongoing evolution of the data strategy and data analytics functions.
  • Transforms the organization's proprietary data into differentiated high-value offerings that support ASI's expertise in developing and marketing products to the 50+.
  • Leads the development of a repeatable data product development process.
  • Supports new business development efforts through the formulation and presentation of recommended services for prospective partnerships.
  • Identifies new sources of enriched data both within and outside the organization to enhance B2B data assets and the strength of 3rd party offerings.
  • Establishes and assures adherence to enterprise data governance.
  • Leads the development of an insights and research based strategy to enable actionable intelligence.


  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience in data strategy and analytics.
  • Past services or consulting firm experience is preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with proven success in presenting creative ideas.
  • Proven success in leading and executing data analytics strategies.
  • Proven track record in establishing and meeting revenue/profitability goals through the delivery of business results.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers and external stakeholders, fostering strong working relationships.
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation and interpersonal communications skills. Experienced at translating technical theory into business impact terms
  • Team player dedicated to excellent customer service for internal and external customers.
  • 3+ years of direct management (supervisory) experience.
  • In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
