Performance Measurement & Business Analysis (PMBA) is responsible for aligning enterprise-wide metrics, analysis, reporting and performance measurement tools to drive AARP's strategic and operating performance. PMBA includes a Business Optimization team that provides consulting and advisory services to projects and initiatives where there is an enterprise-wide impact, unknown root cause and/or complex stakeholder interactions.

This role plays an integral role in developing short-term and long-term membership projections, as well as keeping stakeholders abreast of progress against forecasts, monitoring membership trends and making actionable recommendations to mitigate risk or take advantage of opportunities that exist.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of an integrated membership forecasting model/tool that incorporates all aspects of acquisition and retention activities including direct response marketing and macroeconomic factors that impact membership demand.
  • Assists with the cross-functional multi-year membership planning cycle and quarterly forecasts; this includes making data driven recommendations for the allocation of acquisition and renewal expenses to maximize desired outcomes such as growth, engagement and lifetime value.
  • Provide primary support and necessary membership related outputs/projections to various stakeholders for planning purposes; this includes but is not limited to collaborating with stakeholders to forecast membership dues revenue, ad sales revenue and providing support in setting rate bases for AARP Publications.
  • Assist with the preparation of periodic membership updates for various stakeholders.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to clients for the measurement of campaign performance as needed; includes but not limited to reporting on campaign response, term split, retention rates and other key performance indicators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5+ years related job experience in forecasting, business planning, or data analytics; substantial experience with direct response marketing preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel a must along with advanced experience with business intelligence software such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or similar tools.
  • Prior experience building and maintaining forecasting tools.
  • Must possess experience working in an advisory role with the ability to persuade stakeholders as necessary; strong verbal and written communication skills, curiosity and creativity, ability to collaborate well with others, and strong initiative are absolute requirements for this position.
  • Ability to interpret analytic findings or conclusive data to senior and mid-level management utilizing clear and concise methods a must.
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to recognize business implications of data. Good understanding of marketing, finance, and business strategy.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
