Data & Analytics leverages business intelligence gained through advanced data analytics in order to maximize AARP's marketing and communications results. This includes using data science, data engineering, predictive modeling, and market analytics to guide data driven decision making.

The Data Analytics Manager develops data pipelines and scalable algorithms and methods to provide real-time recommendations. As the Manager, you will oversee the implementation of algorithms for classification and regression, business processes, system support, and data quality governance for master data through data coordination and integration. You will work to ensure an efficient process and establish consistent data flows for all stakeholders. You will collaborate with management to identify opportunities to streamline data processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department.

Responsibilities

  • Write code proficiently to generate answers to analytic inquiries
  • Manage intake and output process for technical and non-technical internal audiences requesting analytic projects
  • Perform key analytic activities (test design/evaluations, incrementality/attribution, journey analytics, etc.) to generate insights
  • Build core data science products, including statistical models, complex reports and/or data visualizations
  • Employ modern data science techniques, such as machine learning
  • Utilize data engineering procedures to feature engineer, move data, and productionalize/automate products

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Marketing Analysis, Business Analysis, or Consulting preferred.
  • Prior experience in a data-driven environment. Demonstrated experience with a querying language in a big data environment- SQL required. Python/Scala desired.
  • Experience with Databricks desired. Experience building visualizations and dashboards in Tableau.
  • Highly process oriented, with a desire for continuous improvement of processes and associated documentation of efforts.
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to recognize business implications of data. Strong direct and integrated marketing experience and credentials and strong quantitative analysis skills.
  • Action orientation. A decisive, quick study with proven analytical ability and strategic business and product development/management skills.
  • Excellent oral/written presentation skills; proficiency in preparation and presentation of proposals, analytical reports, and documents regarding programs' operational status, achievement and performance.
  • Ability to work effectively with people, to gain internal respect and build consensus with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
