AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP's millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

The Media Solutions Group is focused on leveraging AARP's experience, market knowledge and industry intelligence to generate revenue through advertising sales across AARP's media properties. We focus on retaining existing business and developing new business utilizing all internal resources including marketing, creative, insights and operations.

As the Sales Administrative Coordinator for the Media Solutions Group in the New City Office, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support to a group of senior sales & marketing executives in a busy media sales office. You will work on maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, planning travel, creating expense reports, and establishing good business relationships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day administrative assistance to sales and management team including scheduling, travel coordination, expense reports, and other activities.
  • Proactively supports business unit as key member of Support Team.
  • Provides support for special projects and initiatives for the Media Solutions team.
  • Tracks sales activities, account review next steps, and other feedback from sales and AMS for management.
  • Acts as key liaison/point of contact for departments outside of Media Solutions.
  • Coordinates monthly and quarterly sales & marketing meetings.

Qualifications

  • Related administrative coordination experience required; p revious experience in a media, advertising or sales office a plus.
  • Highly effective verbal & written communication, time management & organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines and deliverables.
  • Displays a highly professional demeanor, maintains a positive outlook, and exhibits a solution-oriented approach.
  • Must possess a strong regard and utmost respect for confidential information and situations.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), virtual meeting apps, web research. Tech support skills a plus.
  • Seated in an open office environment - need to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
