The Business Integration Director leads the planning and implementation of business unit and/or department integration initiatives through its full-life cycle, develops external communication plans and monitors program quality and performance post-implementation. The Director leads research and analysis of program requirements, raises issues and integrates initiatives, solutions, and actions for management. In this role, you will identify operational and technological tools to enhance and support existing and/or new initiatives and collaborate with senior management in the planning and execution of strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the department's charitable giving and corporate social responsibility efforts, establishing goals and strategic approach for cascading to other staff; monitors annually for needed adjustments.
  • Serves as point person for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) requests.
  • Establishes and maintains internal processes for effective measurement of ODEI programs and initiatives departmentwide. Includes after action reporting, agency audits, process and impact evaluations, and other methodologies as needed.
  • Manages the consultants and agencies working directly with the EVP Core Office.
  • Manages external communication functions for the EVP, including speech writing, social media posts, media appearances, etc.
  • Represents the EVP Office to internal stakeholders and employees. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to promote and advance diversity, equity and inclusion. Represents the EVP organization on external coalitions, counsels and/or working groups, as needed.
  • Manages core EVP budgets, preparing annual budgets and forecasting.
  • Manages special projects, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position and 8+ years of experience, preferably with some focus on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated independent work to define and contain complex problems, prioritizing effectively, and delivering quickly.
  • Experience creating and driving program processes which enable smooth execution, continuous improvement, and minimal waste.
  • Outstanding partner management, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical global, cross-functional groups.
  • High attention-to-detail and ability to distill sophisticated ideas into clear guidance and communications in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
