Overview

Older Adults Technology Services from AARP (OATS) advocates for technology inclusion for the 50-plus, providing digital literacy training and programming to older adults. With nearly two decades of experience and insights on how older people interact with technology as well as its flagship programs like Senior Planet, OATS uses its resources to create world-class programs that form the basis for systems change.

Reporting to the Director, Virtual Program Experiences, the Manager ensures virtual offerings are in alignment with OATS strategy. They develop and plan both small and large audience virtual gatherings. They are responsible for scheduling and staffing program offerings on the Senior Planet national virtual calendar, Virtual Community Center, and with AARP State Offices. Responsible for managing a remote team of trainers.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly collaborate with the Director, Program Experiences (Virtual) on program planning, best practices, and overall management of Senior Planet virtually.
  • Contributes to the development of detailed plans for budgets, timelines, reporting, and other project management tools, including programming and training schedules.
  • Responsible for event management functions (i.e., registration and promotion) supporting large audience events.
  • Oversees the timely promotion of national Senior Planet virtual programming through newsletters and events on SP.org.
  • Ensures that program outcomes are achieved, and appropriate survey instruments are deployed to collect key program metrics and other results on a regular basis for sharing back to OATS and AARP stakeholders.
  • Works closely with the OATS Curriculum and Innovation & Program Design Teams to enhance engagement and production for all virtual offerings.
  • Coordinates with Regional Program Managers to manage relationships with AARP state offices offering virtual programming.
  • Supervises trainers and contingent labor as needed.

Qualifications

  • BA required.
  • 3+ years program management experience in a non-profit setting.
  • 3+ years staff management and experience managing a remote team.
  • Prior experience delivering virtual or in-person training to a class size of 50+ preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong ability to work collaboratively with remote partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: empathetic, service-oriented, client relationship management, and willing to go the extra mile for a partner.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, Salesforce, Qualtrics, Cvent and Zoom required.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion with the ability to compare and evaluate various courses of conduct and make a decision.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.


Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Compensation and Benefits

AARP offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including a 401(k); 100% company-funded pension plan; health, dental, and vision plans; life insurance; paid time off to include company and individual holidays, vacation, sick, caregiving, and parental leave; performance-based and peer-based recognition; tuition reimbursement; among others.

For this position we anticipate offering a salary between $81,000.00 and $95,000.00 per year. This role is also eligible to participate in an annual incentive plan with a percentage up to 12%. Bonus eligibility is dependent upon organizational and individual performance.
