The Manager of Program Operations manages the program operations activities for a business unit or department, providing program operational support on a variety of projects, programs, and initiatives that are typically division-wide or organization-wide. As the Manager, you will oversee the preparation, consolidation, and reporting on expenditures and collaborate with management to identify opportunities to streamline operational processes and develops new procedures that support the business unit/department.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective management of all operational areas, including compliance with program policy, procedures, performance, and government regulations (as appropriate).
  • Identifies, investigates, analyzes, and recommends alternative solutions to a wide range of operational, management, and administrative actions/problems.
  • Manages program/department assets and budgets.
  • Develops and manages a high-performing team of people managers and individual contributors.
  • Analyzes and directs program resource planning, business requirements and needs assessments (this includes the operating system, software, and hardware, security and core infrastructure services).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years program operations management experience.
  • Ability to lead initiatives across a program.
  • Experience developing program efficiencies/processes.
  • Ability to provide data-based recommendations.
  • Budget and financial management experience required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
