The Program Analyst is a core member of a high-performing programs team working to identify and integrate solutions to the biggest challenges facing the low income 50+ and their families in communities across this country. As the Program Analyst, you will assist in developing and implementing new programs and solutions that align with the organization's goals and objectives and supports the execution and evaluation of existing programs. You will collaborate with management to identify opportunities to streamline processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department. The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and a willingness to support a variety of projects across a diverse portfolio of programs is essential for this role.


  • Assists in developing and implementing new solutions.
  • Contributes to the tracking and reporting of strategic plan strategies and action plans.
  • Uses and analyzes data (program, financial, research, etc) to recommend program and process improvements.
  • Prepares data and reports to various stakeholders.
  • Assists with the management of program budgets and assets.
  • Works with program management to support stakeholders (including volunteers, participants and partners).


  • 3+ years project management support experience.
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Willingness to provide administrative support to core program team.
  • Strong familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative analysis, budgeting, and quantifying return on investment.
  • A preference to take responsibility, manage multiple projects at once and deliver professional work products in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience working with executive/senior staff preferred.
  • Data visualization experience is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
